Job Overview
The OFA is looking for a motivated individual with a passion for new technology to join our systems development group. This is a contract position, with high potential to extend.
This individual will maintain and enhance various Windows-based computerized financial systems which handle Treasury related transactions and reporting. This will require liaising with the OFA business community and other developers as necessary, and providing other IT-related services as may be required by OFA.
The candidate must be able to work in small teams or independently with minimal supervision. Must have excellent business analysis, software requirements acquisition/specification skills, and trouble-shooting ability. Must be able to deal directly with client end-users and have excellent written and spoken English communication skills. Must be interested and able to learn new technologies.
The successful applicant will have a minimum 2 years development experience and an education in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
Demonstrably good knowledge of the following computer systems technologies is required:
• Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008 (with a focus on VB)
• Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 (database design, T-SQL)
• Experience in converting legacy Visual Basic 6 applications to the .NET Framework
• Report writing tools (e.g. Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services)
Knowledge of fixed-income financial products would be beneficial. Knowledge of C#, C++ or other structured programming languages is also beneficial.
Salary is negotiable, commensurate with qualifications.
This is a contract position, with high potential to extend.
