We require a Project Controls Officer to work together with the project manager and the project team to build a new pharmaceutical production facility in North York. The key objective of this role is to insure that the project implementation is complying with the internal controls procedures, corporate project management policies and is in line with the project commitment.
Responsibilities
· Implement all the cost control procedure,
· Analyze the spending trends,
· Monitor the project spending evolution including changes to scope and to committed contracts,
· Predict the total project cost,
· Develop action plans to bring the project in line with the original estimate,
· Report the cost status following the corporate standards,
· Develop and update the project cash flow by analyzing the physical progress and the project schedule,
· Project close out and capitalization following the internal control regulations,
· Participate in the development of the cost control tools used by the corporation,
· Review and confirm and track the suppliers and contractors progress payments/ invoices
· Reconcile the project spending with the accounting department and resolve any discrepancy.

Primary Skill Set:
Experience: Must Have
· 5 to 7 years 'hands on' project controls (or equivalent) experience
· Experience utilizing formalized Project Management delivery methodologies
· Experience with Microsoft Excel advanced level
· Experience using formalized Project Management tools (MS Project, RACI charts, etc)
· Setup & sustainment of a project management delivery/ reporting system
· Project support experience spanning a number of business units/departments
· Project team experience that includes working with a diverse set of stakeholders including business, accounting, and consultant resources
· Experience dealing directly with finance, technology and business resources
· Support to business process definition and reengineering projects
· Able to work effectively independently or in a structured team environment
Experience: Nice to Have
· Oil & gas industry experience or
· Pharmaceutical industry experience
· Micro Soft Excel Macro Programming knowledge
· Experience with enterprise application environments, preferably SAP
