Accounts Payable - Receivable

MatchPoint is a leading franchise brokerage located in Toronto currently with offices in Canada/US/UK, representing multiple franchise brands.
MatchPoint is currently searching for an experienced accountant to join the accounting department. Reporting to the Controller, the accountant performs accounting duties in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment and handle highly sensitive and confidential matters relating to daily activities.
Your responsibilities will include the following:
? Processing of accounts payables and accounts receivable using QuickBooks
? Completing accounts receivable and accounts payable sub-ledger to GL reconciliations, and analyzing differences
? Performing general ledger posting, accruals, aging reports and month-end closing entries
? Performing account analysis and reconciliation, including bank reconciliations and intercompany general accounts.
? Handle inquiries from external and internal sources
? Reconciliation of vendor statements
? Back up for the purchasing role
? Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
Critical Competencies / Qualifications:
You have the following qualifications:
? Diploma or certificate in accounting
? Must have above average proficiency with QuickBooks
? Completion of or working towards a recognized accounting designation
? At least three years? experience in an accounting environment
? Strong analytical skills and average proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
? Strong written and verbal communication skills
? The candidate will be a diplomatic problem solver able to make viable recommendations and deal effectively with all levels of staff, executives, and franchisees.
