Senior Accountant

Our client requires an experienced Senior Accountant for their office located in the Markham area.

Essential Duties:
- To assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly $CAD and $USD financial statements in accordance with the accounting timetable.
- To prepare, maintain, and report monthly balance sheet validations on a timely basis including, but not limited to, cash, accounts receivable, prepaid, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expense, etc...
- To prepare timely and accurate multiple currency journal entries
- To assist in assignment of new profit centers, cost centers, and cost elements in the SAP general ledger.
- To assist in the preparation of various quarterly and annual internal and external audit schedules.

Skills:
-Detail oriented with excellent accounting reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Experience working in an SAP environment an asset.
- Good MS Office software technical skills.
- Very strong MS Excel software technical skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, effective time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple requests in a fast paced environment.

Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled within a recognized accounting program and working towards an accounting designation with the estimated completion of approximately three years.
- Minimum five years related accounting experience.
- Post secondary school diploma or degree majoring in accounting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
